The final destination of Road to Hana would be beyond Hana Town; it is ‘Ohe’o Gulch. This is a part of Haleakala Nathonal Park, where we can see famous "Seven Sacred Pools". It’s actually twenty-four chain falls and pools, however we can see only seven from the road. That is why it’s called "Seven Sacred Pools". Also this name is made by the tourist industry. It sounds like ancient Hawaiian sacred place, but it’s not! Well done, isn’t it? Anyway, it doesn’t matter how we call this place, it is beautiful and unique.
There is admission fee. Please check the official website of Haleakala National Park.
We need a short walk from parking lot to the pools. There is a banyan tree.... I’m amazed whenever I see this kind of tree.
Looking upstream from a bridge. The left is when the water level was high, the right is when it was low. Big difference!
The mouth of the stream. See also the difference between high and low water levels. When I took the left picture, we the pools were closed (we wouldn’t want to go in anyway). When I took the right, I was standing on a rock in the middle of the stream. I almost fell by strong wind blew up from the ocean.
I love it when water level is high. Looks exciting!!
